Privacy at Sunday Checkin

Your voice is yours

Entries are encrypted at rest. We never share or sell what you say. You can export or delete your account at any time.

This privacy policy explains what Sunday Checkin collects, why we use it, and the choices you have. It is a plain-language draft for the product’s launch review; if you have a question that this page does not answer, email us.

What we collect

• Account information: your email address and the identifiers needed to authenticate your account with a magic link. We do not ask you to create or store a password.
• Journal entries: the audio you record, its transcript, edits you make to that transcript, and entry metadata such as when it was created and how long the recording was.
• Search and reminder information: search requests, reminder time and timezone, and whether reminders are enabled.
• Service and device information: basic request logs and browser or device information needed to keep the service secure and reliable.
• Product analytics: events such as pages visited, sign-in steps, recordings, searches, and reminder changes. Analytics can include an account identifier and the search text you submit, but we do not intentionally send your audio or full transcripts as analytics properties.

How we use information

We use this information to:

• send magic-link sign-in emails and keep your session secure;
• store, transcribe, edit, and search your check-ins;
• schedule the reminders you request;
• provide support, prevent abuse, and keep the service working; and
• understand product usage and fix bugs through aggregate product analytics.

We do not use your journal as advertising content, and we do not sell personal information.

Where information is processed

Sunday Checkin runs on Cloudflare infrastructure, including Workers, Durable Objects, D1, R2, Workers AI, and Vectorize. We use service providers for email delivery, product analytics, AI-powered transcription or search features, and payments where those features are enabled. These providers process information only to provide services to Sunday Checkin, under their own privacy terms and security controls.

We may disclose information when needed to comply with law, enforce our agreements, protect the service or its users, or respond to a genuine emergency. We do not disclose the contents of your journal to advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and journal data while your account is active so that your check-ins remain available to you. You can request an export or account deletion at any time. We will handle a verified request and remove data from active systems, subject to limited retention that may be required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or resilient backups.

Some deleted entries may remain briefly in system backups or security logs before those systems rotate. We do not restore deleted journal content to an active account.

Your choices

You can:

• unsubscribe from reminder emails using the link in any reminder;
• edit or delete individual entries in the app;
• request a copy of your account data; or
• request deletion of your account and associated journal data.

Use the account controls below to request an export or deletion. Please send requests from the email address associated with your account so we can verify ownership without asking you to send a password or journal content.

Security

We use access controls, signed sessions, and encryption in transit and at rest. No online service can promise absolute security, so please contact us promptly if you think your account or a magic link has been compromised.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, when appropriate, notify active users. The current version is always available at /privacy.
